UDP 10161
Synopsis
- UDP port 10161 is the IANA-assigned port for SNMP over DTLS (snmpdtls) as defined in RFC 6353.
- Net-SNMP (5.8+), when built with TLS/DTLS support, can run its snmpd agent over DTLS and listen on UDP/10161 (with snmptrapd using 10162 for DTLS traps).
- SNMP Research International’s products (e.g., EMANATE and BRASS agents/managers) implement RFC 6353 and use UDP/10161 for secure SNMP communication.
- The SNMP4J library (v2+ with SNMP4J-SEC) supports SNMP over DTLS; network management systems built on it, such as OpenNMS Horizon/Meridian, can communicate on UDP/10161 with compatible agents.
