TCP 1400
Synopsis
- Sonos speakers and sound systems expose an HTTP/UPnP control interface on TCP port 1400, used by the official Sonos apps to manage playback, grouping, and device status.
- Third-party tools including Home Assistant’s Sonos integration, openHAB’s Sonos binding, and libraries like SoCo and node-sonos communicate with Sonos devices over TCP 1400 for control.
- This port has been abused when exposed to the internet (e.g., via UPnP/port-forwarding): researchers have demonstrated hijacks that could trigger playback, join/leave groups, or rename devices, though not arbitrary code execution.
- The legacy CADKEY License Manager (for CADKEY CAD software) also uses TCP port 1400 for license checkout between clients and the license server.
