Synopsis for TCP port 1717
Internet TCP port 1717 is commonly used by the Message Queuing (MSMQ) protocol, a messaging protocol developed by Microsoft. This protocol allows applications running on separate servers/processes to communicate in a failsafe manner. It is also used by the Conferencing Server in applications like Microsoft NetMeeting. Additionally, it is used by the IBM DB2 database software for intercommunication between its components.
