UDP 34568
Synopsis
- UDP 34568 is used by XiongMai/XMEye “H.264 DVR” family video surveillance devices (DVRs/NVRs/IP cameras) for streaming and device communication.
- Companion clients and CMS tools—XMEye (mobile/PC), VMEye, and NetSurveillance CMS—connect via UDP 34568 (often alongside TCP 34567) for remote viewing.
- Many OEM/rebranded “H.264 DVR” units expose this port by default for remote access.
- This port is associated with exploitation: these devices have had numerous vulnerabilities and weak/default credentials, and botnets commonly scan UDP 34568 (and TCP 34567) to find and compromise them.
- XiongMai-based DVRs implicated in Mirai-era IoT botnets are a prominent real-world example exposing this port.
