Synopsis

  • TCP port 447 is the IANA-assigned ddm-rdb (IBM Distributed Data Management – Remote Database Access) service.
  • It is used on IBM i (AS/400, iSeries/System i) to provide remote file and database access via DDM/DRDA.
  • Real examples: the IBM i DDM host server listens on 447, enabling IBM i Access Client Solutions (and older Client Access/iSeries Access) data transfer utilities and other DDM clients to reach DB2 for i and the Integrated File System.
  • DB2-related tooling that speaks DDM/DRDA (e.g., DB2 Connect to IBM i) can also use this port when configured for DDM services.
