TCP 50001
Synopsis
- Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) uses TCP 5001 as the default HTTPS management interface on Synology NAS devices.
- The iPerf2 network performance tool runs its server on TCP 5001 by default.
- Sling Media Slingbox devices use TCP 5001 for remote streaming/control and often require port forwarding to 5001.
- IBM Db2 commonly assigns TCP 50001 to the listener for a second database instance (with the first on 50000) in many deployments.
- Because DSM is exposed on 5001, this port has been targeted in the wild (e.g., SynoLocker ransomware and other DSM exploit attempts).
