Synopsis

  • TCP port 52311 is the default communication port for HCL BigFix (formerly IBM BigFix, IBM Tivoli Endpoint Manager, and IBM Endpoint Manager).
  • The BigFix Root Server and Relays listen on 52311/TCP for client reporting, action/download distribution, content gathering, file uploads, and Console/WebUI/REST API access (over HTTP/HTTPS).
  • BigFix Clients on Windows, macOS, and Linux connect to Relays/Servers via 52311/TCP in typical enterprise deployments.
  • IBM/HCL solutions built on the BigFix platform—such as IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT), BigFix Inventory, BigFix Compliance, and BigFix Patch—use the same 52311/TCP channel for their agent-to-infrastructure communications.
  • While BigFix also uses UDP 52311 for notifications, 52311/TCP is the primary data channel.
