Synopsis for TCP port 5500
Internet TCP port 5500 is commonly used by VNC (Virtual Network Computing) for its remote desktop functionality. Specifically, it is used by the VNC Server's HTTP Proxy component to provide a VNC Viewer with Java-based access to the server. This allows users to control another computer remotely over the network. Other software may also use this port, but VNC is the most common.
