Synopsis for TCP port 8088
Internet TCP port 8088 is commonly used by various web services and applications for non-standard HTTP traffic. For instance, it is often used by Microsoft Remote Procedure Call (RPC), a protocol that allows a program on one computer to execute code on a remote server. Additionally, Apache Tomcat, a popular open-source implementation of the Java Servlet, also uses port 8088 for its HTTP connector by default. Furthermore, some instances of HP Web Jetadmin also use this port for device communication.
