Synopsis

  • Couchbase Server: TCP 8092 is the Views (MapReduce) REST API port used by the Data service; applications query design documents and views via HTTP on 8092 (the TLS-secured counterpart is 18092).
  • Real-world example: a Couchbase cluster backing a web app will serve map/reduce view queries from app servers to nodes on port 8092 inside the data center.
  • Security note: exposed Couchbase 8091/8092 endpoints have been targeted in the wild; misconfigured clusters on the internet have allowed attackers to enumerate buckets or read view outputs via the 8092 API.
