TCP 830
Synopsis
- TCP port 830 is the IANA-assigned port for NETCONF over SSH (RFC 6242).
- Network OSes that expose NETCONF on 830 include Cisco IOS XE/IOS XR/NX-OS, Juniper Junos, Arista EOS, Nokia SR OS, Huawei VRP, and HPE Comware.
- Management agents like Tail-f ConfD (embedded on many devices) listen on port 830 for NETCONF over SSH by default.
- Automation/controllers such as Cisco NSO and the OpenDaylight NETCONF plugin connect to devices on TCP 830 to push/pull configuration via YANG models.
- Client tools and libraries including Juniper PyEZ, Python ncclient, and Ansible’s netconf connection use port 830 to communicate with NETCONF-enabled devices.
- Enterprise platforms like Cisco DNA Center also use NETCONF sessions to devices on port 830 for model-driven configuration workflows.
